Trance music is generally characterized by a repeating melodic synthesizer phrases, and a musical form that builds up and down throughout a track, often crescendoing or featuring a breakdown. Sometimes vocals are also utilized. The style is arguably derived from a combination of largely electronic music such as ambient music, techno, and house. 'Trance' received its name from the repetitious morphing beats, and the throbbing melodies which would presumably put the listener into a trance-like state.
There are many trance events across the world.
Some, that are on my wish list are -

Trance party #2 - Sensation (Black and white)

Held at Belgium, Germany, Amsterdam(current home) and Antwerp. It has now been split up into two editions: Sensation Black and Sensation White. This was done to differentiate the music and feeling more than would have been possible if it were one event. Sensation Black focuses more on darker music, like Hardstyle and Hardcore, whereas Sensation White focuses more on House and Trance. To attend you have to wear all black or whites according to the event.
DJ's that have appeared at Sensation are André Tanneberger, Armin van Buuren, Darren Emerson (one of the Underworld members), David Guetta, Erick E, Erick Morillo, Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Paul van Dyk, Johan Gielen, Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Angello, Tiësto.Chris Liebing, Deepack, DJ Darkraver, DJ Lady Dana, DJ Luna, DJ Marcel Woods, DJ Outblast, DJ Pavo, DJ Zany, DJ Promo, DJ The Prophet, DJ Tom Harding, Yoji Biomehanika, DJ Yves De Ruyter , Mauro Picotto and Michel de Hey.
